Hello all! As you can see I have started posting some new auctions and will be continuing to do so throughout the evening.

These auctions, stuff I haven't posted yet, stuff you haven't posted yet, and stuff from the previous round that did not receive any bids are now open for bidding between now at August 8, 11:59pm.

This is pretty much the final deadline to be able to make things happen for Maria. Right now the total is at approximately $2,000 raised and pledged through the auction and general Internet donations. We have $3,000 to go. Maria is also working on some sources of funding off-line, now that we've put such a big dent in the total, so hopefully we can all make this happen together.

Hello everyone and thank you for bidding!

Bidding on current auctions closed at 11:59pm last night, July 30.

TODAY you will get a comment from me, Maria, or the auction sponsor telling you, you are the winner and what to do next.

TOMORROW new items will go up and bidding declared open on these new items and items from the first round that received no bids. This round will last through 11:59pm Sunday, August 8th.

I will post a total progress report update sometime tonight or tomorrow.

For NOW, if you are the winner of an auction, please make your donation to mariatheo74@gmail.com. Please send this donation as "Personal" and "Gift" so that Paypal does not take out a fee. Additionally, please make a note in the notes field about what item this donation is for.

Then, when paypal sends you your confirmation of donation, send a copy of that to me (racheline@gmail.com) and your auction seller, who will then make arrangements with you to get the item to you.

If you are the seller, please check the tally post. I am trying to add things as I see them, but am not always able. If you don't see something you've received a receipt for, please post the item and the amount at the tally post when you have received donation confirmation. This redundancy helps me track things and make sure nothing gets caught in the cracks.

Adding up the current donations Maria has received, closed auctions and current value of active auctions, we've raised about $1,400 for Maria so far. Which means we have a ways to go ($3,600 still needed) to get her last semester of school paid.

Since this fund raising effort was first started, Maria lost her job because the company worried she would not stay with them after graduation and chose to replace her now. This make it even more urgent that Maria gets the funds she needs to finish her degree.

Please promote this auction if you can.

I love that you are all so polite and generous and awesome, but please stop thanking everyone for every bid on an item. it makes it harder to see what is going on in the auction and it deters some people from clicking through to see the current price of an item because it looks like there's a bidding war going on when there isn't. PLEASE SAVE THE THANK YOU's UNTIL AFTER THE BIDDING CLOSES.

First, the good news is that while we're getting this auction organized Maria has already received some donations. She's keeping me apprised of stuff so we can track totals, tell you what's going on and get any extra to charity should that happen. For those that like math, we've just passed the 2% mark.

Second, if you're sending money to her Paypal account (mariatheo74@gmail.com) now or later when you've won an auction, PLEASE be sure to select "personal" and "gift" for the type of payment so that PayPal doesn't take out any fees.

Third, I believe I've just fixed the tag problem. You should now be able to edit and add your own tags. I will continue to fix and add tags on posts as much as I am able. If there is a problem with an auction listing beyond tags for which I need your help I will tag the item "auction listing incomplete" until it is corrected. If you've having a problem or are confused just PM me.

Fourth, please, please, PLEASE, adhere to the standard auction format, especially with your titles and including starting bids and ways to contact you. I cannot edit your posts beyond fixing tags. It's up to you to get this right or me to hound you about it. I'm letting small things slip through, but as standardized as we can make things the easier this is for all of us ultimately.

Are you friends with Maria? Are you willing to help moderate this community? You won't have to do much, but I do need other eyes around in case something goes horribly wrong and I'm not immediately available to stop a spammer or some such.

I particularly need someone who can be attentive to the auction 7/7 - 7/12 -- I'll be in the UK then, and if people need help with tagging and such, I may not be efficient in getting back to them.
